    Medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians work together to analyze specimens (blood, tissue and body fluids) of the patients.

    The laboratory at LRH provides inpatient and outpatient services, including screenings for local industry and processing for physicians' offices and clinics. Modern equipment is used for computing and reporting results, including the Cardiac Troponin-I, which is specific for detecting cardiac muscle damage.

    The laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
